Motor Vehicle Claim – Young mum suffers serious accident

Valerie’s case

Motor vehicle accident – $665,000 in compensation

Valerie, 31, a young mum of two children suffered severe injuries, when she was violently t-boned at a round-about when driving home from work. As a result, she required two surgeries to her neck, which left her with significant scarring and the development of an ongoing psychological disorder.

At the time of the accident, Valerie was a machine operator for a major Australian and New Zealand company, having been employed with that company for over ten years. After the accident, she, was unable to continue working due to debilitating pain and ultimately was terminated from her position as a result.

After Valerie was terminated from her employment, and she learned that she would have to have surgery, she contacted us to assist.

We prepared the claim efficiently, by having Valerie assessed by highly regarded doctors, in the fields of orthopaedic surgery and psychiatry. The reports from our doctors were served upon the insurance company and soon after, they agreed with our doctor’s opinions that Valerie’s injuries were serious and would entitle her to pain and suffering damages. The insurance company chose not to rebut the opinions of our doctors.

The claim proceeded to a mediation in July 2020, and we secured a settlement of $665,000 for Valerie – she was delighted with the outcome.
