Motor Vehicle (CTP)
Claim – Wanda
Wanda was a single woman who suffered serious injuries when she was knocked off her motorcycle while she was travelling to work.
Her injuries included serious fractures to her pelvis and wrists and a large laceration to her groin. She also suffered ongoing psychological difficulties which interfered with her pre-injury capacity to work, leading to the loss of an opportunity for promotion. Wanda was employed by a major merchant bank prior to the injury and whilst eventually she returned to work, she was physically and mentally unable to commit to the challenge of her career.
Instructions were received from Wanda to proceed with the motor accident claim in early 2009. The claim was prepared quickly and efficiently by one of our specialist lawyers with a background in major/catastrophic litigation. Once the claim was prepared we approached the insurance company with a settlement offer. A settlement conference was organised soon after with the result being that the claim was settled on in March 2010 for the sum of $820,000. Our client was delighted with the speed of the preparation, as well as the outcome itself.
