      Esther wins $1.5mil settlement after hospital fails to find cancer

      When Esther* went to a public hospital with groin pain, she underwent ultrasounds and x-rays, but the hospital failed to identify a suspicious mass. This negligence led to a delayed diagnosis of a rare, aggressive cancer. Esther required extensive treatment and suffered long-term health consequences.

      To build her case, we had to prove the hospital breached its duty of care by failing to provide proper treatment and advice. We also needed to show that this led to a worsened prognosis and increased suffering for Esther.

      We began by gathering evidence showing that other medical institutions would have conducted a more thorough investigation, given Esther’s persistent pain. Our lawyers also compiled additional evidence demonstrating that the hospital’s failure to act on suspicious findings in the diagnostic imaging caused a critical delay in Esther’s diagnosis.

      We then used our national network of experts to prove that Esther’s extensive treatment requirements (including chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation therapy) were a direct consequence of the hospital’s negligence.

      Ultimately, we secured a $1.5 million settlement for Esther, covering her medical expenses, lost earnings, and future economic loss.
