      Injured man on Working Holiday Visa receives payout despite returning to UK

      Patrick

      Patrick injured himself while on a Working Holiday Visa. His employer had sent him to work for another company. The manager there set Patrick an unsafe task that caused him to slip and hurt his back.

      We built Patrick’s claim alongside a leading expert on work safety. Their report proved Patrick’s employers had breached several key work guidelines. We also compiled evidence of Patrick’s losses.

      Our lawyers filed two separate Common Law claims: the first against Patrick’s employer, and the second against the company in charge of the site where Patrick was injured.

      Patrick’s visa ran out during the proceedings and his weekly Workers Compensation benefits stopped. He was forced to return to the UK. In spite of this, we were still able to secure Patrick a settlement of almost $900,000.
