      Additional $300k secured for injured woman’s pain and suffering

      Angela

      A serious car accident left Angela with multiple injuries and ongoing pain. She eventually returned to her job but could not work in her previous capacity. This severely restricted her income. We overcame insurer scare tactics to win Angela compensation for both the lost income and her pain and suffering.

      Angela continued to experience chronic pain after the accident. She could only work short days and missed out on a promotion. The insurance company accepted fault on behalf of the insured driver but resisted our efforts to negotiate the claim. They denied that Angela was entitled to compensation for pain and suffering.

      To successfully resolve Angela’s claim we had to prove her injuries exceeded the 10% Whole Person Impairment (WPI) threshold. Angela was examined by two of our independent medical specialists in orthopaedics and neurology. We then brought Angela’s claim before an independent Medical Tribunal.

      The insurer continued to resist but the Medical Tribunal found in Angela’s favour. The insurer then appealed the tribunal’s decision. We quickly consulted with our medical experts again and prepared a detailed response to their appeal.

      The tribunal dismissed the appeal and we recovered an additional $300,000 for Angela’s pain and suffering. Altogether, Angela’s claim was settled for the sum of $750,000 plus legal costs.
