      Ryan was just 26 when he was knocked off his motorcycle by a car. We helped secure his financial future with both a motor vehicle accident and Workers Compensation claim.

      The accident left Ryan with severe injuries to his left foot, including a ‘degloving’ injury and compound fractures. He needed multiple surgeries and had several toes amputated. While in hospital, the wound and surrounding bone became infected and Ryan required further surgery. He was completely immobilised and unable to work or care for himself.

      Our team filed a Workers Compensation claim to get Ryan immediate financial relief. This covered his lost wages and medical expenses. We then began a motor accident claim to secure compensation for his future care.

      While the car driver admitted responsibility for the crash, it was essential to present detailed medical evidence to maximise Ryan’s compensation. We filed his claim with the Claims Assessment & Resolution Service (CARS), using expert reports from orthopedic and plastic surgeons, an occupational therapist, a podiatrist, and a psychologist.

      We then invited the driver and their insurer to participate in an Informal Settlement Conference. Through negotiation and the strength of our medical evidence, we convinced the insurer to settle. This saved Ryan the time, expense, and emotional distress of a CARS hearing. In total, Ryan was awarded $1 million for past and future lost income, domestic assistance, and medical treatment, as well as his pain and suffering. He can now afford proper medical treatment and care for the rest of his life.
