Learn moreAudrey Pham, a workers compensation solicitor at Monaco Solicitors, discusses their thorough approach to claims, which includes seeking additional entitlements and applying for ILARS Grants through WIRO. She highlights the firm’s commitment to covering all bases, from common law claims to superannuation insurance entitlements.
My name is Audrey Pham, and I’m the workers’ compensation solicitor at Monaco Solicitors. Essentially, workers’ compensation is, you could say, the foundation of a lot of entitlements. You’re looking at your medical treatment expenses, your wages being paid and potentially a lump sum compensation. However, at Monaco’s here, we thoroughly assess your claim, and we look for the additional 1%, as you could say. The workers’ compensation scheme is now covered by a government body. They’re known as WIRO, and they provide grants called ILARS Grants. And what that means is when you approach a solicitor, when you approach our firm, what we do is we make an application on your behalf. We are definitely one of those firms who treats all our clients’ cases very thoroughly. We examine every little detail, and we make sure that we’ve advised them of all types of claims.
So workers’ compensation can lead to common law claims, can lead to superannuation insurance entitlements, can sometimes lead to even motor vehicle accidents just depending on the type of situation. For instance, if you get injured at work, but you were also potentially driving at the same time. So those type of things. Sometimes law firms can miss these type of entitlements, but we’re very mindful here of making sure that all bases are covered. I would say the most rewarding part is at the end of the claim when you’re able to see the relief and the satisfaction in your clients. It’s always nice to be recognized, but I guess the biggest thing for me is going away and knowing that I actually helped someone who was in a really, really tough situation. I know it’s not easy. It’s a daunting experience. It’s very scary for someone who doesn’t know the system very well, and knowing that I’ve been there to help relieve that stress and pressure keeps me going and is very rewarding for me.
