      When Vincent slipped on the stairs outside his apartment, he dislodged his decade-old hip replacement. We proved the building owners were responsible despite his existing condition.

      Prior to his fall, the replacement was stable. Vincent was mobile and independent. After the injury, Vincent required surgery and became dependent on family assistance.

      Our ergonomics expert determined that the staircase was unsafe and did not comply with regulation. There was no handrail and the steps were uneven. Armed with their report, we took Vincent’s claim to the District Court of NSW.

      Though the matter was complex and Vincent’s condition worsened, we managed to resolve the claim within 10 months. Vincent was pleased to receive $700,000 plus legal costs.
