      When Pieta was diagnosed with breast cancer, she attempted to claim a TPD benefit through her superannuation. Her insurer rejected Pieta’s claim. Pieta then came to us. We immediately filed a dispute notice to fight the insurer’s decision. Challenging an insurer is difficult: they are extremely well-resourced and TPD disputes are highly complex. Fortunately, we have a wealth of expertise in disputed claims, and set about implementing a strategy for Pieta. We obtained a large body of evidence, particularly from medical professionals. We pride ourselves on the depth of evidence we submit – something the insurer themselves commended us on. In the end, we were successful in challenging and overturning the insurer’s decision to reject Pieta’s claim. Both Pieta and our team were delighted. Pieta was eventually awarded $1.2 million in benefits.
